Black Sheep Coffee Review | Keolix Koffee
If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to sip a matcha latte surrounded by graffiti walls, stressed-out uni students, and music skipping like a scratched CD from 2003—welcome to Black Sheep Coffee.
This café is one of those places you’ve probably seen on Instagram. It has that “we’re cool without even trying” vibe, which will either make you swoon or side-eye your receipt when you realise your macchiato cost more than your Pret lunch.
I stopped in to test the hype. Here’s the Keolix Koffee take.
☕ Drinks: Matcha vs. Macchiato
Because balance matters, I ordered both a matcha latte and a macchiato.
Matcha Latte
Smooth, earthy, and better than I expected. No chalky clumps, no weird bitterness. Oat milk made it creamy, sweetness wasn’t overpowering, and it looked as aesthetic as you’d hope. Not life-changing, but solid. 4/5.
Macchiato
Fine. Drinkable. But just a 3/5 situation. The espresso had depth but lacked that “punch-you-awake” sharpness. Pleasant enough—just didn’t leave me planning a second round.
🎶 The Music: Broken Record Energy
Here’s where things got interesting. The music system was on something else that day. I kid you not, it kept stuttering like someone’s WiFi couldn’t keep up. Imagine sitting in a café trying to vibe, but every thirty seconds the track skips like it’s stuck in a loop.
At one point, it legit felt like a round of musical chairs. I half expected everyone to get up and start circling their tables. It was funny at first… and then it wasn’t.
If they fix the sound system, vibes would instantly go up a notch. Because nothing ruins your matcha flow like listening to the same beat glitch out on repeat.
🖌️ Atmosphere & Decor: Graffiti Meets Rustic
Black Sheep is loud in personality. Walls are splashed with graffiti, wood tables give it a rustic edge, and the industrial touches keep it gritty. Definitely more “urban creative hub” than “curl up with a book” café.
Expect plenty of uni students hammering away at laptops with iced coffees in hand. Buzzing energy, solid lighting, and staff that keep things moving. Seating isn’t plush, but you’re not here for a nap—you’re here for caffeine and chaos.

💸 Coffee Pricing: Expensive But On-Brand
Yes, it’s pricey. £3–£4+ depending on milk and extras. But you’re not just paying for coffee—you’re paying for the aesthetic, the vibe, the location, and the unspoken right to say “I worked from Black Sheep today” like a TikTok productivity influencer.
Everyday spot? No.
Occasional treat or work session? Makes sense.
📍 Coffee Location & Accessibility
You’ll usually find Black Sheep in central, student-dense areas. Easy to reach, easy to stumble across, and usually buzzing with people. The one I visited was near a uni—translation: more laptops than tourists.
✅ Overall Coffee Experience
Despite the chaotic music and average macchiato, I actually liked it. The graffiti walls, buzzing student energy, and rustic edge gave it a live-wire feel.
Would I call it cosy? Nope. But if you want a caffeine-charged creative hub, it delivers.
Would I go back? Yeah—not as my main spot, but as a solid “I need a vibe shift” café.
